Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Centerville School will be indefinitely postponing our Child Development Fair which was planned for Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Hopefully, we will reschedule this event later during the school year.
Good Morning, Please pick up student learning packets for this week this morning anytime until 12:30. At 12:30 we will be delivering packets we have left. These will be delivered to homes and left on the front door in plastic bags. Thank you, take care, stay healthy.
Our staff is working on being able to provide some Zoom meetings for our students. Teachers will go over the packets that were sent home. We will put together a schedule for these Zoom meetings. Please download the Zoom app (free) on your device. Email Mr. Knight questions.

In a press conference this afternoon, Governor Noem closed schools in South Dakota for the week of March 23-27. For us, that means, no access to the school, wellness center, Tornado Time, or library. We will continue to provide grab and go lunches next week Monday-Friday from 11:00-12:30. Thank you to those that came for lunches today. We encourage you to have your children come for lunch tomorrow and all next week. We find it very important to continue in our efforts to provide an education for our students. We understand that it will not be like a teacher delivering direct instruction. The teachers have been here today and will be here tomorrow to gather materials for next week. These materials can be picked up at the front door anytime Monday morning. If your student/s need additional items from their locker or desk, a school staff member will take them to gather any needed items. If you can't make it here Monday before 12:30, a school staff member will deliver your child/ren's work to your house Monday. If you or your student have questions about a given assignment or instruction, I encourage you to email the teacher or me. We will continue to update this situation as we know the information. The Governor is taking this on a week by week basis, we will be conducting our business in the same fashion. Stay safe!

The SDHSAA has canceled all scheduled events for spring activities through April 5th. That means our Lounsbery Early Bird Track Meet will be canceled.
The Centerville School District will be providing sack lunches on Tuesday and Wednesday for any student. Lunches will be handed through the front door from 11:00-12:23 both days. If your student can't make it to town, please notify us. Thank you to generous donors.
Following Gov. Noem's recommendation for schools to close, the Centerville School District will be closed March 16-20. There will be no access into the building. MS/Elementary students may have homework sent home with them today, High School students are being asked to take computers with them. We will continue to monitor situations as they arise. The Junior High music festival scheduled for next Wednesday at Alcester has been canceled.

Mother/Son Game Night Schedule Change: Destiny Haas, Parker senior has invited your elementary Mothers and son’s to game night in Parker this Friday, March 13th. As a precaution, we have decided to postpone this senior project event to Saturday, April 4th from 5pm to 7pm.
Each month the NHS students choose a staff member of the Centerville School District for "Educator of the Month," for the previous month. Educators are chosen for their commitment to scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Attached is a picture NHS members Blake Johnson, Haley Meyer, Sophie Eide, Mya Bendt, Megan Stevens, and Hunter Ellis presenting the certificate to Ms. Heyn (not pictured: Tori Herrboldt, Alyssa Brandsrud). Congratulations to Ms. Heyn for being chosen by the NHS to be February’s Educator of the Month! We appreciate all the time, effort, and contributions that she has made to the Centerville School District.
Upcoming Child Development Fair.
There will be a meeting Wednesday March 4 at 3:30 for all 6-12 grade students interested in being on the track team. Please meet in Mrs. Eide's classroom. There will be a parent meeting for track on March 10th at 7 pm in the school commons.
Golf will have a student meeting on March 16 after school in the Music room.
Congratulations to the boys on the first round win over the Menno Wolves. They will travel to Hurley tonight to take on the Viborg-Hurley Cougars @ 7 pm. The game will be streamed on the NFHS network and KELO is coming to stream the game as well. The game will also be on the radio- 106.3 FM
Doors will open to the public at 6:00
First round region game tonight 7 pm vs Menno @ Home. $6 for adults $4 for students. Centerville passes will NOT be accepted. Winner of this game will play 7 pm tomorrow vs Viborg-Hurley @ Hurley.
