During the homecoming parade, he took off his hat and walked back and forth fanning his classmates to keep them cool. He even wanted to run to the gas station to buy everyone waters! Thank you for always being so kind Myles." #GOODDEED #DEEDOFTHEDAY #TORNADOPRIDE

Information for Marching Band Friday 10/4 @ Menno

The theme last week for library was Fall/Harvest Moon. The Kindergarteners read the story "Kitten's First Full Moon" and made harvest moons with Dotter markers and added a kitten silhouette. The 4th graders learned about the harvest moon, the fall equinox and the different phases of the moon last week. Their activity was to create each phase of the moon using Oreos with orange cream and a plastic knife to cut the cream to simulate the corresponding moon phase on their sheet. The 1st graders read the story "By the Light of the Harvest Moon" and created their very own leaf people! Third graders learned about the fall equinox and why the harvest moon is so big and orange and the history behind it being called the harvest moon. They made chalk drawings of the harvest moon and added the silhouette of a tree. Second graders learned about the harvest moon as well and we talked about the different seasons we experience. They then did Q-tip paintings of what a tree looks like during each season.

Good morning Tornado Nation! Shoutout to 7th Grade Student Claire Edberg who was given a "Good Deed of the Day" from Middle School Math/Science Teacher Mr. Haiar. He said, "After the 8th period bell a classmate of hers spilled everything in their pencil case. Instead of speeding out of the classroom since school was over, she went out of her way to help this classmate pick everything up and make sure they had everything before she left." What a kind act! Great job Claire! #GOODDEED #DEEDOFTHEDAY #TORNADOPRIDE

A good deed of the day was awarded by Special Education Teacher Mrs. Auch to 4th grade student Ronaldo Gutierrez. She said "Ronaldo is an outstanding friend! He can be seen being very patient, kind, and respectful to his classmates. He includes other people at recess and during group activities. I notice that Ronaldo cares deeply for his friends and wants them all to have a good time at school." She even noticed during a 4th grade math activity that Ronaldo moved to include a classmate so they had a job and felt like part of the team. Special shoutout for including one of his many friends, JD, in his picture as well! What an excellent example of being a friend to others and making Centerville School a positive place to be! #GOODDEED #DEEDOFTHEDAY #TORNADOPRIDE

Information for the Beresford Watchdogs Marching band competition:
Our event will be live streamed again this year. Our student run production group, Dawg Bone Entertainment is going to be providing the video for us again this year, and we appreciate their efforts to share the performances. Please take time to provide to your fanbase that isn’t able to join you in person the following link: watchdogs.live. We’ll be streaming from the elementary school.

Tornado Fans: We appreciate the support for our student-athletes as home events. To ensure a positive experience for all spectators, we ask that students remain seated in the designated student section or stay with their parents throughout the game. Misbehavior in the student section or elsewhere will result in the student being told to sit with their parents or asked to leave the game. Please remind your child not to run around during the event—they should only get up to use the concession stand or restroom.
At home volleyball and basketball games, students should not hang out and play in the commons area.
At home football games, students are not permitted to play football or engage in any other physical activities. They should stay in the student section or sit with their parents. Students that are in the area by the long jump pits to the north of the driveway will be asked to go find a parent to sit with. Students should NOT be playing under the bleachers.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone! Go Tornadoes!
