The Centerville Economic Development Corporation and the Stan Schmiedt Complex Renovation team is excited to announce the 2nd annual Zombie Run.
2019 Centerville Zombie Fun Run – Saturday, October 12th
Scenario: Several residents of Centerville have been infected with a zombie virus. Many have wandered out into the streets and around town. They are looking to feed on human flesh.
RUN! You must run for your life or become a zombie yourself.
The Choice: If decide to partake you first must choose. Choose to be a Runner or choose to be a Zombie: Become a flesh-eating zombie and capture peoples flags along the path. Show up as a zombie or one of our makeup artists will get you ready. You may also choose to continue to be a part of the human race and take on the challenge of getting past the zombies with your flags intact.
Humans: Your mission, SURVIVE! As a still coherent human, your goal is to walk or run along the designated route out to the rendezvous point and back to the safe zone. While running the route you will need to avoid getting your lifeline flags taken by the zombies along the way. If you lose all of your flags you did not survive and you will most certainly become a zombie before long.
Zombies: Your mission, besides eating human brains, your goal is to capture as many lifeline flags off of the humans as you can. Help be a part of the fun and scare the runs as they go by.
If you are planning to be a zombie and need help with your transformation come early. We will have a limited amount of white and black face paint along with red blood to get you into the look. The cost for zombie makeup is included in your donation.
The Who & The Why? Whether you are an avid runner or haven’t ran in anything competitive at all, this event promises to be exciting, heart pumping and fun! Run, jog, walk, do it at your pace. PLUS, it’s a great fundraiser for Centerville’s track and football complex and the visions for updated concessions and restrooms.
Where: We will meet at Peder Larsen Park in Centerville, SD for the start and finish of both races. Racers and Zombies please come early.
What’s in it for me? Besides helping support our project and it being a fun running experience participants will also receive… Halloween candy, a zombie run participation bracelet, a Zombie Fun Run Cup, pop or water for the kids, beer until the kegs are gone for those 21 and older.
